I haven't written to Checkpoints since graduation. I married Captain Randy L. Witham in 1993 at March AFB, CA. We have a 4 year old daughter, Elena, and a 10 month old son, Christian. I am in the Reserves now as a PA officer assigned to the Pentagon. We live in Charleston SC where Randy is a C-17 pilot. His squadron is full of 91 grads. Diane (Romaglia) Higgenbothem and I are good friends. We both separated from active duty and now spend our time together raising our children. Who'd of thought 7 years ago that we would go from fellow Air Force Personnel Officers to fellow stay-home moms! But just as academy training--honor, self-discipline, self-control, tenacity, SAMI cleaning--helps us train officers, it also helps us train tomorrow’s leaders--our young children. So we should never underestimate the extent to which the academy investment pays off.

Just got back from SACC. I'm so glad I went; it was well worth the expenditure and complements (if not beats) other JMO head hunters well … 50 companies were there; I talked w/about 15; I'm focusing on two. I've got a written offer from Lockheed Martin that I must decide on before Aug ends, so now I'm entering into a risk management/timing situation. Will you be making Bill HAAG’s wedding in Spain? I'd like to, I just don't know yet. I'm still on my way to Hawaii (Ironman competition); my mileage is starting to go through the roof. In fact, gotta cut this short since I'm planning a 110 mi bike ride tomorrow. Later.

Hello everyone! We are finally home from Montana. It is about a 33 hour drive out there but we stopped to do some shopping/eating and it took us a little longer. We were only able to spend Friday night to Wednesday morning but enjoyed being there. Mary (My Mother-in-law) drove back in vehicle formation with us and we did lots of antique shopping along the way--she is the expert. Everyone ended up purchasing something. We arrived home late on Friday and have been catching up on everything since. It is always fun to go but better to be home. Now we need a rest from our vacation. We are getting ready for my parents' visit this week. Graduation is on Friday (FINALLY) and both sets of parents will be there. We're gonna enjoy Labor day weekend as the end of our year long sabbatical. Again we apologize for the neglect of our friends and family during this year and we look forward to catching up with everyone. We both start work in the Pentagon Tuesday, 8 Sep. David will be in J2O (Intelligence on the Joint Staff) working with the NIST (National Intelligence Support Team). His work number will be (703) 695-0653, DSN 225-0653. DIRECTIONS (Please come visit): On the beltway (495 East or West), take Van Dorn St / Franconia exit (exit #3), turn right at light, go thru 6 lights (cross Franconia road, past Edison High School on left, past pool on right).
